KrCERT/CC warned that Inswave WGear, an enterprise banking electronic-finance component used for large Excel processing, contains a remote code execution vulnerability. The affected scope is WGear 1.100.7.0205 and earlier, except 1.100.2.25091, with remediation requiring deletion of vulnerable versions or an update to 1.100.11. KISA and MSIT also launched a coordinated cleaning service with several antivirus vendors to detect legacy vulnerable installations on user PCs and remove them with user consent. The issue matters because vulnerable financial-service client software can expose enterprise banking environments to code execution risk if outdated components remain installed.
