South Korean police warned that a North Korean hacking organization continued sending impersonation emails posing as government agencies, journalists, and research institutes. The group used malicious attachments to install malware on PCs and phishing URLs that mimicked trusted institutions or portals to steal account credentials. Police said the campaign expanded its targets, produced victim-specific fake websites, compromised 1,468 email accounts, and also pursued virtual-asset theft through multiple methods.
