Eterbase said its investigation into the September 2020 hack was continuing with support from Uppsala Security, Coinfirm, and legal representatives who filed a criminal complaint with Slovakia’s National Criminal Agency. The notice published wallet addresses and token amounts for stolen Ethereum, Tezos, Algorand, BAT, LINK, and other assets, with further tracing planned for Ripple, Cosmos, Bitcoin, Bitcoin Cash, Bitcoin SV, Litecoin, and Tron. Eterbase estimated the stolen assets at about $5.38 million and said Binance, Huobi, and other centralized exchanges were cooperating because many funds had landed in their wallets. The company expected investigators to involve EUROPOL and Interpol and flagged a possible EU AML Directive 5 issue tied to funds reaching the European payment area through Binance’s EUR gateway.
