The FBI warned cryptocurrency companies that DPRK TraderTraitor-affiliated actors, also known as Lazarus Group and APT38, had moved approximately 1,580 bitcoin from multiple cryptocurrency heists and might attempt to cash out more than $40 million. The alert linked the funds to the Alphapo, CoinsPaid, and Atomic Wallet thefts in June 2023 and referenced earlier DPRK activity against Harmony’s Horizon bridge and Sky Mavis’ Ronin Bridge. The source provides six Bitcoin addresses holding the tracked funds and asks private-sector entities to monitor blockchain activity involving those wallets. The report frames the activity as part of DPRK cyber-enabled virtual-currency theft used to generate regime revenue.
