The UN Panel of Experts midterm report said North Korea accelerated missile activity in the first half of 2022, including 31 launches that combined ballistic and guidance technologies and six ICBM tests. It also reported continued sanctions evasion through illicit oil imports, coal exports, vessel acquisition, ownership obfuscation, and AIS misuse. The cyber section noted two major 2022 cryptoasset thefts, at least one attributed to DPRK actors, alongside ongoing information theft and collection efforts supporting prohibited weapons programs.
