The office said it detected the incident before the trip and took protective measures, while stressing that the presidential office security system itself was not compromised. The breach stemmed from the administrator using a commercial personal email account during trip preparation, in violation of internal security rules. Korean reporting said some itinerary, schedule, and presidential message material related to the UK state visit may have been exposed.
