The candidates used stolen resumes, fabricated Mexican identities, LinkedIn profiles, AI-assisted video manipulation, and claims of local education or work history that failed basic language checks. The team observed disappearing profiles after rejection and infrastructure clues including Astrill VPN use, European assigned IPs, US residential laptop-farm routing, and remote desktop access. The case is useful for DPRK IT worker defense because it shows how hiring teams can spot identity fraud through language validation, identity checks, recorded interviews, and controlled artifacts such as email, phone, IP, and account history.
