South Korea's National Intelligence Service warned that a North Korean hacking group was preparing to distribute a trojanized copy of a widely used domestic e-commerce app. The fake app closely matched the legitimate app's icon, functions, and file size, making it difficult for users to distinguish by appearance alone. NIS said installation through links in emails or text messages, rather than official app stores, could expose all personal information stored on the device. The agency shared details with domestic and foreign security vendors so they could update antivirus detections and urged users to install apps only through official stores and keep mobile security tools current.
